Emmanuel Fratianni, conductor & producer is a conductor, composer and pianist based in Santa Barbara, California. He is highly regarded as an invaluable team member in music direction for large symphonic multimedia productions and is known for his ability to manage the demands of film sync, musicians, choir, guest artists and audience rapport while never compromising the musical and artistic integrity of the orchestra or production.
Emmanuel Fratianni has conducted many prestigious American ensembles including the San Francisco Symphony at Davies Hall, Boston Pops, National Symphony Orchestra at the Kennedy Center, Baltimore Symphony, Dallas Symphony, and Utah Symphony Orchestra among others, including multi-platinum producer "David Foster and Friends " pops/symphonic concert program.
Emmanuel is since 2010 principal conductor of the acclaimed symphonic touring production "Video Games Live" and principal conductor of the Santa Barbara Chamber Players which first inaugural 2023 season included Dvorak Symphony n.7, Copland's Appalachian Spring, Elgar's Enigma Variations, Ravel's Mother Goose Suite and Lalo Schifrin tuba concerto performed by Gene Pokorny, principal tuba of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra.
Internationally, Emmanuel has guest conducted the Spanish National Symphony, Royal Scottish National Symphony, Czech National Symphony, Malaysian Symphony Orchestra, National Symphony Orchestra of Chile and in Asia, the Beijing Opera and Performing Art Orchestra.
An award-winning composer and arranger his music for video games has been performed by some of the finest and most recorded orchestras in the world, including the Los Angeles Philharmonic, London Philharmonic Orchestra and the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra. Emmanuel’s latest multimedia composition “Portale” for orchestra, children choir and international guest soloists was presented in June 2013 to the Mayor of Los Angeles Antonio Villaraigosa during the official opening of the new Tom Bradley International Terminal at Los Angeles Airport (LAX). The inaugural piece commissioned by Westfield Corporation was performed live inside the new terminal.
Emmanuel Fratianni’s debut on the Billboard Top-Ten in 2008 with EMI Classics Video Games Live, Vol.1 soundtrack album (as composer, orchestrator) cemented his status in the classical/crossover orchestral world. His awards and credits as a composer and collaborator include “Soundtrack of the Year” by Play Magazine for the score to Advent Rising, one GANG (Game Audio Network Guild) Award and five GANG Nominations.
A member of the multiple Emmy-nominated music team for the CBS drama JAG for 5 seasons, Emmanuel made a home for himself beginning in 2002 on the major scoring stages in Los Angeles with the Hollywood Scoring Orchestra and the finest scoring musicians in the world. This invaluable experience in television and film scoring sessions is what Emmanuel credits as formidable preparation for meeting the demands of touring symphonic production timelines and the essential needs of economy of preparation, management of the diversity of guest artist specialties, and expertise in the sheer variety of musical genres.
Emmanuel Fratianni is an Italian and US citizen, fluent in English, French, Italian and Irpinian dialect. He is an active guest lecturer in both American and European music institutions in the subjects of music composition for film and visual medias as well as multimedia music direction. He resides in Santa Barbara, California with his spouse, composer Laurie Robinson, and their 12 year-old son. Together they also maintain a home in Bisaccia located in the province of Avellino, Italy.
Laurie Robinson, executive director and creative director at the Collective Music & Media Group holds the unique distinction of being one of the few living American women composers to perform as a soloist, her own compositions with the major orchestras of the world, including the Los Angeles Philharmonic at the Hollywood Bowl, San Francisco Symphony, the National Symphony Orchestra at the Kennedy Center, Boston Pops, Pittsburgh Symphony, London Philharmonic at Abby Road studios and Royal Albert Hall, among many others. Her recorded music has been released by EMI Classics, Nile Rodgers’ Sum’thing Else Records and Curb Records. She has debuted on the Billboard Top-10 Classical/Crossover Charts 3 times as a composer, scoring producer and soloist.
A student of renowned American neo-classical composer Robert Muczynski, and Liszt scholar and pedagogue, pianist Ozan Marsh, Laurie Robinson graduated Cum Laude with a B.M. in Music Theory/Composition at the University of Arizona, with a concentration in Piano. In Los Angeles, she was mentored by scoring icons in the entertainment industry, composers Alf Clausen (The Simpsons) Jay Chattaway (Star Trek franchise) having been chosen as the first woman from the ranks of the Society of Composers and Lyricist membership for their fellowship program.
A dedicated educator and clinician, Ms. Robinson’s symphonic scores for children and young ensembles are published by Alfred Music Publishing, North America. (Symphony, choir, wind ensemble and band scores of video games music.) Her guest lectures in education, music pedagogy and media composing include Women in Film, WorldCon, the Burbank Parent Education Council and Children's Creative Project of Santa Barbara County Office of Education.
As a grant writer, she has secured over $300,000 in funding for her original symphonic commissions, orchestral performances and recordings, educational outreach to low income and underrepresented students and instruments scholarships. She is a proud member in good standing of the American Federation of Musicians, Local 47 and Music Teachers National Association. (MTNA)
In 2013, Robinson was commissioned to compose "Portale, City of Angeles- Gateway to the World" nicknamed "Symphony in an Airport," to commemorate the grand opening of the new Tom Bradley International Terminal (TBIT) at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) The commission represented a return of public and private philanthropy to the funding of new public works of art.[4] The score was presented to Antonio Villaraigosa, retiring Mayor of Los Angeles by Westfield Group's Co-CEO Peter Lowy at the premier.[5] The symphony premier was sponsored in part by Westfield Corporation, and facilitated by the Los Angeles Airport Authority (LAWA), City of Los Angeles Office of Tourism, Jupiter Ambrosia Productions[6] and in small part by Ville de Lausanne and Canton de Vaud, Switzerland.
