We create programming that brings audiences and musicians closer together in one meaningful, communal, musical experience.
CLASSICal JAZZ... between 2 worlds
compels it’s audience through a fascinating, multi-media immersive musical journey between Classical and Jazz music, delighting attendees of all ages and backgrounds. Available for programming in 2020, Collective Media Concert’s first offering features the works of 20th century composers- including Debussy, Ravel, revealing their surprising, undeniable and previously unexplored influence on the American Jazz greats including Bill Evans, Duke Ellington and others.
Premiering previously unseen concert footage and interview clips, the American Jazz legends are allowed to detail in their own words, the inspiration they uncovered in the scores of the masters, paired with symphonic performances by the orchestra. Narrated by the conductor the concert program is lightly scripted, flexible and includes the licensed material featured on screen, in a multi-media performance synchronized with “live” orchestra.
Furthering the mission of musical diversity in the concert hall, an optional space is reserved for living American composers--whose works explore improvisation in an orchestral setting to feature brilliant up-and-coming Jazz and Classical soloists.
